As my practice ages
I can see into the past
What has gone before
I know will never last
As my practice ages
It takes a little more
Circumference it is larger
A longer way to go
As my practice ages
It’s easier to accept
The postures I don’t do
Are easy to forget
As my practice ages
I am longer still so sore
Add a little Advil
So that I am sore no more
As my practice ages
Backbends they are gone
Will I find again someday
Are probably slim to none
As my practice ages
My breath is strong and deep
There are some things to celebrate
Of things that I can keep
As my practice ages
There is peace left on my mat
As my practice ages
I say thanks for all of that
